What beautiful gifts! I think their culture is similar to ours in that it is common courtesy to bring gifts when someone accepts you into their home as a guest. He must be very grateful. That painting is beautiful, and the Ganesh wall hanging is gorgeous. My friend's family is Hindu and she said that each Hindu family has a different god to watch over them. I wonder if his family's god is Ganesh? If so, that would be the highest compliment to you. Either way, it's still a huge compliment. =) Sounds like a good visit! ROFL about the chopsticks.

Oh, and he doesn't like the green sauce at Solea (our favorite Mexican restaurant) either - he says it's too spicy. He wants to take some back to Thailand for his friends. "You think Thai is spicy?
