VAEYC site done – hooray!
I finished the VAEYC site, tested the links and it’s live. I think it looks pretty good, if I say so myself.
Mary from WECA was very impressed and asked Nicole if I’d be willing to do sites for some of the other affiliates. I am, but would like to be paid for it.
I don’t know what to ask though – Nicole said one of the other affiliates paid a high school student around $500 for their site. That’s incredible! Html is so much more fun than I thought it would be, now I want to learn php, javascript, etc. How crazy is that?!

Valentine diapers – yea!
I’m SO excited! I cut out a bunch of diaper inners/outers today and drew a some cute Valentine pictures to applique on some of them. I love doing applique and can’t wait to start on these tomorrow afternoon! I think they’re going to be really really cute. I hope some mamas like them too!

New Dipes Posted
I finally finished the two small fitteds I’d started, took pics, edited the pics and posted them at Hyena Cart. They’re still there, but hopefully they’ll sell soon. I really love the colors in these two, they’re bright and happy.
But I think I need to change my strategy and stock more often. Of course, I need to start sewing more often so I have something to stock, LOL!

I must be crazy!
Why do I do these things to myself?! Why can’t I say no? Why do I like to be so busy I don’t know which was is up? I must be crazy!
On Monday I agreed to design and maintain a website for Valley AEYC. Valley Association for the Education of Young Children is our local affiliate of NAEYC (The National Association for the Education of Young Children). I’ve been a Valley AEYC member for 6 years now, and was an officer for 4 years. This is my first year “off”, and I guess I missed making decisions and leading the organization, because here I am again. Valley AEYC has been talking about getting a website for 6 months now, and nothing has been done. Since I started learning html 4 months ago, and have had my own site, Zany Zebra Designs, for 3 months, the past president asked me if I could do the website. I agreed, because I’m afraid if I don’t do it, it won’t get done.
You’d think I’d have enough to do already, with 5 children aged 18 mos to 18 years, and a husband who will start student teaching next Monday and will be working until 8 pm every night, plus Saturdays. Then there are all my jobs: Amy & Kids Co, my in-home child care; Zany Zebra Designs, my cloth diaper business; directing handbells at church on Tuesdays; and directing middle school band on Saturdays.
My New Year resolution was to make sure I didn’t take on anything else unless I dropped something, but I can’t drop anything, I love each of my roles! I guess I’ll just have to squeeze it in somewhere. Look out caffeine and late nights, here I come!
